April 2000 was the start. Hard to believe. Twenty-five years passed in a flash. To honor this milestone, I thought it might be fun to let folks see what we have been up to. Maybe get a little more inline with the times. Maybe look back, in order to look ahead.
We are so fortunate to have worked on really cool projects for amazing people.
We’ve gotten requests from some of the same people over and over again. No longer our clients, we now consider them friends. We have been entrusted to design additions to their homes, create brand new homes or designs to help their businesses. We consider the examples here, our best. Both completed projects and friends.
Using the word “we” sort of implies having a large staff. I do not — by choice. If you have ever called, you know the person picking up the phone will either be me, or Mike Kinkaid who has been here for almost 24 of our 25 years in business. People say Mike sounds like me and has the same handwriting as me. Scary. Mike puts together the details and documents that get these projects built. A good design means nothing unless you have the drawings to back it up, and the insurance and precision of a guy like Mike. Big thanks Mike.
We also have some recent additions to Team Myers.
First is Greg Myers (no relation). Greg started helping us with as-built documentation a number of years ago and has been a real asset to us. On our renovation projects, Greg goes out and measures, photographs and draws whatever old building we are planning to work on. Renovation projects go better when you have accurate drawings and photographs of what exists and Greg does a very good job doing it.
Next is Michelle Harris. I have realized over the years that our residential clients sometimes struggled with material selections, colors, furnishings and all of the hundreds of decisions one needs to make when they are building new or fixing up an old place. Being a small firm, we did not have an interior design department and these clients were sometimes reluctant to hire an outside interior designer. Then I crossed paths with Michelle. I met Michelle when she had me out at her house to look at some possible renovations. We hit it off from the start. Her organization and creativity impressed me so I asked her if she would be interested in helping with some of our projects and the rest is history. She has an eye for design, color, finding cool objects and furniture at barn sales or wherever and has a good time doing it. Our residential clients have really appreciated having someone to assist them through the process and Michelle has been the perfect person to do it…and get this…people actually have fun with it and that is important to us. You will see Michelle’s name mentioned in the descriptions of some of our more recent projects. Big thanks Michelle.
We hope you enjoy looking through our portfolio. If you are inspired, or see a spark of an idea, give us a call. One of us will answer right away, and we hope you’ll get to know me, Mike, Greg and Michelle through the process
